1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Boop Android application, package name com.boop.app, and this official website.
The current release lets one person play Red against automated opponents in a 2, 3, or 4-player Ludo match. Gameplay is local and remains available when the account service is unavailable.
The app can automatically create or restore a device-bound account when the account service is configured and available. The account currently keeps a nickname and a selected curated avatar available for the profile screen and local matches. The app does not provide chat, voice rooms, gifts, payments, advertising, analytics, or online leaderboards.
The official website is informational. It does not provide account creation, profile editing, gameplay, payments, advertising, analytics, or a contact form.
2. Information We Collect
When account sync is configured and available, the app sends limited account and device information to the Boop account service. The app may read the Google Advertising ID when available and use Android ID as a fallback device identifier. It also creates an app installation ID and sends limited technical context such as country, language, app version, Android version, device brand, and device model.
The account service uses the device identifier to create or restore the device-bound account. The backend stores an irreversible hash for device binding and does not store the raw GAID, Android ID, or derived device identifier. The app does not display or intentionally log these identifiers.
When you save a profile, the app sends the nickname and selected curated avatar preset ID. A nickname may identify you if you choose to include identifying information, so do not enter passwords, contact details, or other sensitive information. The service may return a generated account UID, username, and selected avatar resource so the profile can be shown in the app.
Account requests are encrypted and signed by the app protocol. The app may attempt account synchronization at launch and when saving a profile, but a failed request does not prevent local Ludo gameplay.
The app does not upload dice rolls, token positions, board state, game moves, match results, or the local completed-match count. It does not include advertising or analytics SDKs in the current release.
3. Information Stored Locally
Boop stores the following information in private app storage on your device:
- Sound, vibration, motion, and theme preferences.
- Completed-match count and local game settings.
- The app installation ID and cached account UID, username, nickname, avatar selection, and avatar resource.
- Access and refresh tokens encrypted with Android Keystore-backed encryption.
Game settings, match count, and gameplay state remain local and are not made available to other users. Local copies are deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app, subject to the operating system's backup behavior. Clearing local data does not necessarily delete the device-bound account or profile already stored by the account service.
5. Permissions and Security
The app declares internet access for device account sync and profile updates. It does not request sensitive runtime permissions such as microphone, camera, location, contacts, Bluetooth, photos, or notifications. Vibration uses the device's local system feedback mechanism.
Internet access is not required to start or finish a local Ludo match. We still recommend keeping Android and Google Play services updated and protecting access to your device.
6. Your Choices
You can play local Ludo without a working account service. You can change game preferences in the in-app Settings screen and use Clear local data to remove local settings, cached profile data, the installation ID, and local match count. Android's app storage settings can also clear local app data.
Clear local data also removes locally stored session tokens and cached profile data, after which the app may create or restore a device-bound account if the account service is available. Local clearing or uninstalling does not necessarily remove remote account data. To request deletion of a device-bound account or profile, use Me > Delete account in the app and follow the account deletion instructions.
7. Retention and Deletion
Local settings, completed-match count, cached profile data, installation ID, and locally stored session data remain until you clear the app data, use the app's local-data controls, or uninstall the app, subject to Android backup behavior.
The account service retains the device-bound account, generated account identifiers, one-way device hash, profile nickname, curated avatar selection, sessions, account settings, and related account-service records while the account is active or as needed to operate and secure the service.
An in-app deletion request starts a 25-day pending deletion period and removes local account data and session tokens immediately. If the app signs in to the device-bound account again during that period, the request is canceled and the account is restored automatically.
When the pending period is completed, active account, profile, device-binding, session, and related account-service records are deleted or irreversibly de-identified. We may retain only the minimum security, fraud and abuse prevention, dispute, deletion-completion, or legally required records for the period required for that purpose. Retained records are not used to restore the deleted profile. The account deletion page describes the current deletion scope.
8. Children
Boop is a general-audience casual game and is not designed specifically for children. The app does not ask for a date of birth or age, and it does not provide public profiles, chat, voice rooms, payments, advertising, or behavioral analytics.
The limited device-bound account described in this policy is created automatically for profile sync; it is not a registration or sign-up flow for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child in a way that requires parental consent under applicable law.
If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information through Boop, they can email [email protected] to request review and deletion. Do not include passwords, authentication tokens, identity documents, or other sensitive information in the initial request.
9. Changes and Contact
We may update this policy when the app, website, or applicable requirements change. The updated policy will show a new effective date on this page.
For privacy questions, email [email protected]. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information.
